Making Rising Linux Boot Disk

Preparing work:

1. Users must download Linux bootable document package from the website before using this tool. In the tab page [Rising Tools] of the main program of Rising Antivirus Software, click button [Making Rising Linux Boot Disk ], you will see the noted linkage for downloading Linux Bootable Document package, click the linkage [Download Linux Bootable Document Package at Rising’s Website] to download the package at the relevant website.

2. Uncompress the package after downloading: select the package, right click “Uncompressed to Current Folder”, then all the files are placed in the Linux Folder.

3. Firstly close the self-protection function of Rising Antivirus, click [Setting] / [Advanced Set] / [Software Security] in the main interface of Rising software, cancel [Start Self-protection] and click button [OK]; if no Rising password has been set, users can directly input the identifying code, otherwise, input the correct identifying code, and the self-protection function can be closed.

4. Copy Linux folder under Rising’s installation directory (e.g.: C:/Program Files/rising/Rav). After the copy, users shall restart the self-protection function for the security of computer.

Operation method:

1. Click [Start] / [Programs] / [Rising Antivirus Software] / [Rising Tools] / [Making Rising Linux Boot Disk], click the button [Start to Make].

2. In the tab page [Rising Tools] of the main program of Rising Antivirus Software, click the button [Making Rising Linux Boot Disk] and the tool shall be started.

Specific functions as follows:

The tool can help you making a Linux startup disk with Rising Antivirus Software, and the disk can be used to start the computer and detect and kill the virus.

1. Format U-disk (FAT16), rewrite U-disk’s main boot record DPT, so as to support Linux boot (this procedure may delete all current data in U-disk, please backup in advance).

2. Copy the core files required for starting Linux and the latest Rising virus database to U-disk.

3. The finished U-disk can directly start the computer and detect and kill virus in Linux environment (please make sure that your computer can be started with the mode of USB ZIP).

4. Linux may not be booted by U-disk with the capacity surpassing 1GB (which is limited by ZIP compatibility mode).
